SERVICES AVAILABLE

Diagnostic Services - Formal diagnostic services of Learning Disabilities are available to students and adults.  Informal sessions of Clinical teaching are available to specifically diagnose reading, written expression and spelling problems.  A Clinical Teaching session will help identify specific education/remediation programs that the student need in order to learn.  Clinical Teaching sessions yield helpful information and can be the basis for a request of a formal from the school district.

Educational Consultations, Employment Consultations  - Consultations regarding educational and employment issues are available for parents, adult students, tutors in private practice, teachers, schools, school administrators, physicians, attorneys, and human services directors.  Consultations may be over the phone, in person, or on site.  Consultants from ECM, Inc. represent a variety of professional backgrounds including, medicine, psychiatry, neuropsychology, clinical psychology, education psychology, social work, special education, mental retardation, gifted and talented education, chemical dependency, occupational therapy, and physical handicaps.  Consultations are not diagnosis nor are they treatment.  Consultations are problem solving and issues clarification.  More specific information and references are available upon request.

Staff Development Programs, Workshops And Inservices - Programs can be developed and/or modified to fit the specific needs of an organization.  Some of the topics already developed are: Effective classroom strategies for the at risk student, the LD student, the ADD student and the "falls through the cracks" student; Effective, alternative approaches in reading, written expression and spelling; Effective homework strategies; Study skills; IEP issues and strategies; Section 504 Issues and strategies; Teaching the subject matter to students who struggle with reading, written expression and spelling; Arithmetic strategies for the hard to reach and teach; Strategies for the slow learner; and Conflict resolution and conferencing skills for teachers.  Evening Parent programs are also available. Advocacy, Mediation, Home Schooling Services - Advocacy and conflict resolution services are available for parents, adult students, and school administrators.  Clinical teaching sessions are available to determine current skill levels and deficits and to determine which methodology or combination of methodologies will best meet the learning needs of the student.  Record and testing review are available.  Home schooling and curriculum help is available for the primary, middle and high school student.  A high school diploma network has been formed for the home schooled student.  More specific information and references are available upon request.
