Received a BA from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, and a Master's in Special Education from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Honored by the Minnesota Association for Children with Learning Disabilities as a General Educator of the Year, 1981.

Past President of the Orton Dyslexia Society, now known as International Dyslexia Association.

For five years, was a LD Specialist and Director of Teacher Education for the Menninger Clinic Center for Learning Disabilities.

Technical Support Person for the Kansas Attention Deficit Disorder Training Project.

1997 recipient of the Samuel T. Orton Award from IDA and "Professional of the Year" by KLDA.

Serves on the Board of Trustees for the Kildonan School in Amenia, New York.

Fellow, Orton-Gillingham Academy of educators and  practitioners.

Author, producer of videos and computer programs.

Well known for his ability to translate theory into practical and common sense strategies which produce the desired educational results.
